Described by Peter Allis as a 'mini Gleneagles', the Bonar Bridge Ardgay golf course was originally opened in 1901 by Mrs Andrew Carnegie of Skibo Castle. The current layout is a 9-hole Par 65 at 5162 yards with narrow, tree-lined fairways that require straight driving and small, hard to read greens which test players of every ability. Set within heathland, bordered by woodland, dotted with clumps of purple heather and running alongside Loch Migdale, this is a true gem in Scottish golf.

Distilleries here on the stormy sea coast of Sutherland were forever few and far between, yet malt whisky enthusiasts have always championed Clynelish over many more famous names. When the original distillery was built in 1819 by the future Duke of Sutherland, the quality of Clynelish whisky was so prized that only private customers were supplied.

Croick Church lies some 10 miles along Strathcarron to the west of the village of Ardgay. It was built in 1827 on land donated by the Rosses of Balnagown and to the design of Thomas Telford, and formed part of a church extension programme initiated and financed by the Westminster Parliament. Previously there had been a Preaching Station in its locality and there are the remains of a Pictish broch within its glebe. The Church and its minister figured prominently in the Clearance of Glencalvie in 1845, a tragic event that is recorded in messages scratched on its east window. To those able to travel to it we extend a warm welcome to join with us at the service held in the Church during the summer months. The Church itself is open throughout the year and annually attracts between two and three thousand visitors.

Kincardine 'Old Church' was first mentioned 1227 as a chapter of Fortrose Cathedral and was dedicated to St Columbus. After being burnt to the ground in the late 1790s the church was rebuilt and served as the centre of Church of Scotland worship in the parish until the 1947, when worship was transferred to Kincardine West church. In 1993 the Kyle of Sutherland Heritage Society acquired the Grade 'B' listed building and it now houses the many events, exhibitions, concerts and lectures hosted by the society each year.

The Kyle of Sutherland Angling Association is fortunate in having access to some 14 miles of one of the few pristine waterways in the North of Scotland, set amidst the outstanding natural beauty of the County of Sutherland, one of the UK’s last remaining wildernesses. The association’s water extends from the Creich pool, to the East of Bonar Bridge, and as far West to where it is joined by the rivers Cassley and Oykel. The Kyle has four feeder rivers which are amongst the most prolific Salmon Rivers in the Highlands, the Carron, Shin, Cassley and Oykel, all of which are top class Highland fly fisheries
