Fishing

The Kyle of Sutherland is famous for its salmon fishing, so much so that we use the salmon as part of the logo for the area. With four feeder rivers meeting in the Kyle it is the perfect base for some excellent salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing and permits are available at the local post office in the village of Bonar Bridge.

The Kyle of Sutherland Angling Association and the Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries Trust websites provide a wealth of knowledge on fishing in the area and can provide full maps and information on each river and local lochs. Many of the local estates offer salmon and trout fishing within the designated seasons.
